Nadia A. Rodriguez is a classically trained pianist and violinist located in Boulder, Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from San Diego State University where she studied under the tutelage of Dr. Tina Chong. Nadia is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Colorado Boulder under the guise of distinguished pianist, Dr. Jennifer Hayghe.
Throughout her musical career, Nadia has competed, performed, and collaborated with several musicians in different festivals and competitions including the Junior Bach Festival, Mozart Festival, and Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC), Certificate of Merit: Annual Convention Music Festival with Branch Honors.
In 2017, Nadia attended the esteemed Starling DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. In 2022 Nadia made her international solo debut at the Interharmony International Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy where she performed in masterclasses and collaborative performances.
In 2023, she presented extensive research on “Dyslexia and Music Reading: Research and Effective Strategies,” at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) National Conference in Reno, Nevada. In 2024, she presented at the MTNA National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia alongside the University of Colorado Boulder’s MTNA Collegiate Chapter on “Making a Music Major.”
Her research publications are included in the September 2023 issue of MTNA’s e-journal: “Dyslexia and Music Reading,” and Alfred’s Music Blog: “Effective Teaching Strategies for Music Students with Dyslexia.”
Nadia is an active and participating member of MTNA and CU Boulder’s MTNA collegiate chapter which advances the value of music study throughout the country.
As a music educator, Nadia’s teaching is illuminated by her avid performing experiences, flourishing pedagogical training, and profound musical inspiration. Her goal is to implement music as a lifestyle by realizing effective practice habits while nurturing each students’ entire persona as the foundation to the musician. She currently teaches students of all ages through Rodriguez Music Studio, the Youth Piano Program (YPP) at the University of Colorado Boulder, and Parlando School of Musical Arts in Boulder, Colorado.
After completing her M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, Nadia plans to pursue doctoral study, working towards a career as a performing artist, pedagogue, and researcher.
