Nadia Rodriguez is a classically trained pianist and violinist located in Chula Vista, California. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from San Diego State University. She also earned a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder, studying under the tutelage of Dr. Alejandro Cremaschi and Dr. Jennifer Hayghe, the last student of legendary piano pedagogue Adele Marcus.
Throughout her musical career, Nadia has competed, performed, and collaborated with various musicians in festivals and competitions, including the Junior Bach Festival, Mozart Festival, and the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) Certificate of Merit: Annual Convention Music Festival with Branch Honors.
In 2017, she attended the Starling DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. In 2022, she made her international solo debut at the Interharmony International Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy, where she performed in masterclasses and concerts.
Nadia is also an active researcher and presenter in the field of piano pedagogy. In 2023, she presented her research on "Dyslexia and Music Reading: Research and Effective Strategies" at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) National Conference in Reno, Nevada. In 2024, she returned to the MTNA National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, presenting alongside the University of Colorado Boulder’s MTNA Collegiate Chapter on "Making a Music Major." Her research has also been published in the September 2023 issue of MTNA’s e-Journal ("Dyslexia and Music Reading") and Alfred Music’s blog ("Effective Teaching Strategies for Music Students with Dyslexia").
As a music educator, Nadia’s teaching is illuminated by her avid performing experiences, flourishing pedagogical training, and profound musical inspiration. Her goal is to implement music as a lifestyle by realizing effective practice habits while nurturing each students’ entire persona as the foundation to the musician. She has taught at the Youth Piano Program (YPP) at the University of Colorado Boulder and Parlando School of Musical Arts in Boulder, Colorado. She currently teaches students of all ages at her private studio, Rodriguez Music Studio.
Nadia’s future plans are to pursue doctoral studies, continuing her work as a performing artist, pedagogue, and researcher.
